Raining jingle bells, a missing key and a squeaky Santa: FRIDAY K WEEK

Our Friday “Purple Day” Class worked a lot with the letter K today. We painted with pretend ketchup, we turned Ks into Kings, we read books about kindness and we talked about keys at Circle Time.

We also dressed up like Santa, finished up our flock of red birds and made more candy cane ornaments in preparation for next week, our last week before Christmas break. We did all of this with the help of another teacher friend, Theo’s daddy Mr Aaron! Thank you, Mr Aaron!

Here are five questions to learn more details about today…

How did you bake your play dough cookies?

Why were there jingle bells falling off the roof today?

What did Ms Kristin need today to open the box of keys?

What was special about snack today?

What does the yellow line at Jumping Land mean?

BONUS: Since our Santa is getting squeaky, what do we pretend he has in his pocket?

1. How did you bake your play dough cookies?

At the oven! Children picked the temperature and bake time.

Ms Kristin brought the oven from the Family Corner to the play dough table. It was a busy place!

2.Why were there jingle bells falling off the roof today?

Because we threw them up there to catch them with our magnet wands. It was kind of like an Easter Egg hunt!

3.What did Ms Kristin need today to open the box of keys?

A key!

All the keys for the locks were in a box but that box itself was locked. Thankfully she had the key on her keychain.

4. What was special about snack today?

It was Jackson’s birthday!

He brought Rice Krispie treats, kettle corn and fruit kebabs! We also got to try ketchup at snack time for anyone who wanted to. Thank you, 4 year old Jackson!

5.What does the yellow line at Jumping Land mean?

To pause and look.

First the yellow tape was there just to hide a little splinter part of the wood but then we started using it as a reminder to wait and see if there’s anyone still on the green rug before we jump.

BONUS: Since our Santa is getting squeaky, what do we pretend he has in his pocket?

A mouse! Just like the mouse in our books, we are pretending there is a little squeaky mouse in Santa’s pocket. He’s so mesmerizing!
