Once upon a time a group of children made a rainbow robot out of rectangle boxes to help collect our garbage (she even went to church and helped take the offering) She’s been waiting in the Block Corner for R Week all school year. She’s only had wheels to move around in, but today she got legs!
Read on to learn about this and more…

Above photos are from one year ago…some of these friends were back together with Rosie today!
What is our robot’s name?
Rosie! We started adding more tape, paint and markers to her. Welcome back, Rosie! These children were clever and resourceful in getting the tape, marker and paint where they wanted it.

What is the hen in our book’s name?

Rosie! She is the hen who went on a walk around her farmyard. Meanwhile the fox was always following her. At one point we imagined that if Rosie had communicated to the fox that she didn’t want to be followed, then the fox was not following the preschool plan of respecting her.
What did Rosie do at Snack Time?

Collected our garbage! We had some wonderful wrappers for her from Scarlet’s Baby Shark fruit snacks (which provided a lot of conversation and box reading). We also had cheese crackers and Honeycomb cereal.

The Honeycomb cereal is made of honey which reminded us of the ending of our book today!

What did Ms Kristin think she got from her office to show you?
A frog project! But no, it was an Earth Day project from 2022. Since she could only see the green edge of the circle, she thought it was a frog. We noticed the 2 frogs in our book today which is a hint to a special project for Thursday (it’s Leap Day, you know!).

What color rainbow stripes did you choose?

Everyone got their Alphabet Project done today. The capital R is a bit complicated with one long rectangle, one short rectangle and a bump. Then there were hundreds of tiny rainbow paper stripes to choose from.

Enjoy a few more photos and video from our day…
These friends were burrowing under pillows like groundhogs…what a perfect activity for the last week of February!
Our library became Wal Mart today. There was a very friendly cashier and customers.
