Once upon a time we went outside to play and someone had a surprise in his backpack. It was something that controlled a transformer! Read on to learn more about this and our day.
An untrue story, a funny mistake, a broken wand and kicking cups : THURSDAY P WEEK
Once upon a time we went outside and Ms Kristin put cups on the hay bales. Children came by and kicked them. Read on to learn about this and more!
Pulling, pretzels, peaches, pink skin, paint, puddles, persistence, pipe cleaners and pepperoni : WEDNESDAY P WEEK
Once upon a time there was an ice storm. Some tree limbs and branches broke. One of them was on our sidewalk and Ms Kristin brought it to our playground. Read on to find out what happened and more!

P is for Puddle jumping
After the children were finished getting their socks and shoes on, I encouraged them to run on the track. Then I thought I’d put some things on the track to serve as “puddles” for them to jump over. I didn’t expect any bodies to fit under the balance boards! There is a video on our Facebook and Instagram sites.
P is for Pink Paint

Our all school project is almost complete. The challenge is to get all the white covered up. Since we have tiny brushes at the easel, this takes quite a bit of persistence!
P is for the Project Table

There are always supplies available at the Project Table. Today we had friends punching holes, making paper and plastic pigs, cutting pipe cleaners and using pink tape.

P is for Pretzels, Peaches and Pepperoni

Thank you, Lane, for a perfectly P snack! The teachers made quite a few peach spills and we had a lot of pretzels fall so we appreciated having such clever cleaners. Check out our video on our Facebook and Instagram sites..
P is for Pink skin
Pinkalicious is a book character whose skin turns pink after she eats too many pink cupcakes. This is not a true story. We thought of foods we like to eat and colored our own faces colors to represent them.

We’ve got every color of crayon represented! Along with some friends also being pinkalicious, we also have redalicious, orangealicious, yellowalicious, greenalicious, bluealicious, purplealicious, brownalicious, blackalicious and whitealicious.
P is for Pulling
A valuable experience for children is having the chance to pull on things. Our circle swing has four ropes that the children often manipulate to get themselves moving. One friend said today that he perfected his pull up!

We finished our day outside with big body work including pulling a big limb around. We think it came down in the ice storm some weeks back. We have a video of a few snippets of bodies at work on our Facebook and Instagram sites.

Popcorn, puzzles, pigs, paint, pizza, pretend and the color pink: TUESDAY P WEEK
Once upon a time there was someone dressed up as a raccoon. He made a chasing/go to work/go home game with other friends that was very exciting. Read on to see pictures and learn more about our day.
P is for Pink
We could be found at the pink Tiny Things, the pink Tub Table things, the pink pigs in the pink kinetic sand, writing and drawing with pink in our journals, the pink Cutting Tub things…these friends cut through plastic, cardboard and wire!

P is for Punch
Whenever I talk about the hole punches we have, there are sure to be some heads darting my way. I’m quick to say that I’m talking about a tool that makes holes in paper. Using a hole punch is not an easy task for young children to master and we’ve got another one who did!

Along with the hole punches, this table was busy with creating!

P is for Popcorn

We had a cozy snack of popcorn and orange slices. Thanks to our snack helpers for getting everything ready!

During snack time we also did Show and Tell (with Ms Kristin in the middle of the big table!).

P is for Puzzle

Along with looking for all the pink puzzle pieces, I also found children working on new-to-them puzzles. One friend completed the wobbly cake puzzle for the first time and another turned a letter into a robot for the first time!

P is for Pig
Our alphabet project is actually a quadruple P thing: Pink Paper Pig Project.

P is for Paint and Pizza

Ms Kristin had so many favorite books this week that she decided to read during play time. She also said that yes, you could sit on the big table to listen (the novelty of this brought some friends closer sooner). Eventually everyone was there.

A couple of questions your children will be able to respond to: where did the mice go to wash off the paint and did Baby Bear like the pizza?

P is for Pretend

There was an elaborate make believe game of “daddy” happening outside today: 4 friends were daddies who would leave the house and go to work. Then they’d run home. Over and over. Then another friend who had a raccoon mask would chase them and they’d run from the raccoon on the way to or from work.

Pigs, paint, plastic, paper, pickles, pears, a problem and the color pink: MONDY P WEEK
Once upon a time Ms Kristin gave everyone a pink marker. As we started drawing one of the markers was red instead of pink! Oh no! Read on to learn more about this mistake and more!

P has a lot of words…enjoy a peek into all the P things from this week!
P is for Pink Paint

P is for Pink Pigs in the Pink kinetic sand…

P is for Puffs, Pickles, Pears and Pop Tarts!

Thank you for snack and your help today, Charlie and Henry!

Very big and delicious pears!

P is for Pink journal work

Journal Time today was doing anything desired with pink markers.

Oops! Ms Kristin had a problem…she gave someone a marker with a pink lid but the marker was RED!

P + h is for 3 new phones!

Thank you to a grandma for donating these old phones. We added rainbow tape to them so everyone knows that they are toys.
P is for Pink Paper Pig

P is for plastic in the Tub Table

P is for pink things in the Cutting Tub

Children are invited to cut anything for the simple purpose of cutting! I add new materials regularly. Today there was paper, ribbon, streamers, pipe cleaners, plastic and cardboard.

P is for Poppleton the Pig

We read two chapters from this book today and checked in on some vocabulary words:

Certainly = for sure, yes, I can.

Cheerful = happy, good mood
Giant = big, huge

Trousers = pants
Sew = like knitting or crochet, using a machine or hands with thread and needle to have fabric go together.
P is for playing with our Show and Tell things

P is for putting on socks and shoes

Putting on socks and shoes is part of Clean Up time before we go home!

Our line leaders are poised and ready to head out!
