THE LAST PURPLE DAY

Today was the last Friday Purple Day of the 2022-2023 year and with it, the very last day of school for all of us. We did some PURPLE things today and added in some extra indoor things due to the chilly and rainy weather.

PURPLE PAINTING: Who put the purple paint on the canvas? Who could tell you where there were more wet paint puddles to walk through? How did you get your feet clean afterwards?

PURPLE CLASS PRETENDS IT’S OCTOBER AND APRIL:

Who went to hide something? Where did you go to find it? What was it? What April thing were you pretending to do? Why did Ms Kristin turn the lights off when we pretended it was October? Where did you go? What did you get? Where did you put it?

These two were waiting for Ms Brenda to get back from hiding things.

PURPLE DAY BOOKS: How many books were there today? Who was in all of them? Why was one character feeling sad in all of the books

PURPLE DAY FINISHES THE YEAR:

Where did we sing the Goodbye Song? How many different verses did we do? What did we call it when everyone got gently and carefully close to each other?

THE LAST BLUE DAY

Today was the last Thursday Blue Day of the 2022-2023 year and with it, the very last day of school for 12 friends. We did some BLUE things today and varied our schedule just a bit so we could come back inside for a focused goodbye time.

BLUE PAINTING: What other colors were already on the canvas? Who gave more paint? How did the paint feel? What was Mr Matt doing with other friends while you painted nearby?

BLUE SNACK: What blue things were on your tray today? Where was your cup? Who brought the donuts? How many blueberries and animal crackers could you get at a time?

BLUE DAY BOOKS: What book did Ms Kristin read first? When you came back inside, who held the big book while Ms Kristin read the second book? Why was Ian feeling sad in both books?

BLUE CLASS GOES OUTSIDE: Did the water work today? Were you allowed to get muddy? Did you hide anywhere for Hide and Seek? Did you get a wish from Ella and her flag wand? What could you do to get your legs and feet drier for going back inside?

BLUE CLASS FINISHES THE YEAR: Did you have to bring your shoes or backpacks inside for our Goodbye song? What happened to your cubby picture and your picture board picture? What presents did Mr Matt and Mr Petr get? How did you carry your rainbow bag?

THE LAST GREEN DAY

In honor of the last Wednesday Green Day (yes, like the band) of the 2022-2023 year, we did some GREEN things today (while we have a Color of the Month, we also have a color attributed to each day…yes, there are many conversations about this mind bender).

GREEN PAINTING: What did you have to do to be ready to paint? What other colors were already on the canvas? Who gave more paint? Were all the colors the same?

GREEN SNACK: What small green things were there for you to eat? What green fruit was on your juice pouch? What happened with the pretzel and cracker store with Mr Petr?

GREEN DAY BOOK: Where were the visitors from today? What was their book about? What did you get to point at? What was the elephant story that had you tighten your belly? (Thank you, Health Ministries!)

GREEN CLASS GOES OUTSIDE: Where did you go to get more snacks from Mr Petr? What did we pretend was an island? Where did you put your Show and Tell things? What did Walter’s mama bring back to show us? Where did they go?

GREEN CLASS REMEMBERS THE YEAR: While Ms Kristin pushed friends on the big swing, she played Raffi music on the speaker again. Did you go on the big swing? What Christmas song did we listen to AGAIN? Do you remember the joke song about a bear doing something with his hair?

THE LAST YELLOW DAY

In honor of the last Tuesday Yellow Day of the 2022-2023 year, we did YELLOW things today (while we have a Color of the Month, we also have a color attributed to each day…yes, there are many conversations about this mind bender).

YELLOW BOOK: Who wore a yellow thing in the book today? What colors were the words on the cover? What was the mistake made? Who was closed behind a door?

YELLOW DAY FRIENDS: Everyone had yellow on their picture card and some people had other colors too. Who had their last day today and got to take their picture home today? What else did they take home?

YELLOW CLASS PLAYS: During Work Time, you had a lot of free time. There was no Alphabet Project or Journal Time. There was a lot of playing. What did you do?

YELLOW CLASS REMEMBERS THE YEAR: While Ms Kristin pushed friends on the big swing, she played Raffi music on the speaker. Did you go on the big swing? What Halloween song from October did we listen to and sing along to? What was so funny about some of the songs?
