What if my child has allergies?

We have ample experience with food allergies/sensitivities and are committed to working with families to develop plans to keep all children safe. Every child with a known allergy is required to have an Allergy Action Plan. We keep copies in the child’s file, the kitchen and the outdoor First Aid box.

Birthday treats with Safe Snacks ready to go!

SAFE SNACKS IF YOUR CHILD HAS FOOD ALLERGIES: If your child has food allergies, please provide non-perishable safe snacks that we can keep on hand for them. Safe snacks are labeled with your child’s name and served only to them.

SUSPECTED OR OBSERVED REACTION: If a mild reaction is suspected, parent/guardian is called immediately and 1 tsp (5ml) of pediatric Benadryl may be administered per parent/guardian approval. If more than one mild symptom or one severe symptom is observed: epinephrine is administered immediately (if epinephrine is not available, then 1 tsp of Benadryl will be administered), then 911 called, then parent/guardian contacted. Kristin has completed training and is authorized by the State of Kansas to administer medications to enrolled preschoolers per parent/guardian approval.
