Our Allergy Management Practices
At New Creation Preschool, we strive to prevent allergic reactions whenever possible while being prepared to respond quickly if one occurs. Every child with food allergies will have safe snack options available while at preschool. Safe snacks may be provided by the family or by New Creation Preschool, depending on the child’s allergy needs and each family’s circumstances.
If your child’s allergy requires accommodations beyond our standard practices, we will work with you to develop an appropriate plan.
Other practices include:
- Individualized allergy planning for each child
- Emergency medications are administered only by Kristin
- For children with food allergies, foods provided are commercially prepared, store-bought products in their original packaging with complete ingredient labels.
- Careful review of ingredient labels when serving food to children with food allergies, with two-person verification
- Emergency medications kept readily accessible according to each child’s Allergy Care Plan
- Prompt communication with families regarding allergy concerns or reactions
All children with a known allergy must have this form completed before attending New Craetion Preschool.
