in cracking an egg, one can find the yolk and the egg white. how strange that the egg white isn’t really white, eh?
“it’s kind of yellow or clear-white.” there were all sorts of ideas of how we could turn it white: we could put it in the freezer, we could put it outside, we could let it sit in the bowl for days, we could cook it. hmmmm. we COULD cook it. we DID cook it. in 15 second increments, we used the microwave so we could see through the bottom of the bowl.
see that tiny ring of white around the edge?
ooooh, a little more white.
oh boy, we’re close now! 15 more seconds should do it…
complete with a little yolk explosion: the egg white turned white. we mixed up another half dozen eggs for snack.
I would then want to put it on a piece of toast for a yummy egg sandwich!! I love this idea of showing the change after adding heat!
