r is for rock and roll, root beer and railroads.

along with our rainbow work, we also sorted rocks and did rolling work.

sorting these rocks from biggest to smallest was quite tricky.

we rolled dice (and stacked them and lined them up and counted them…)

the wooden railroad tracks came out of storage!  oh joy!

i made rootbeer playdough (regular playdough with root beer extract added).  it looked a lot like poop.  i admit i had fun tricking preschoolers…ask if you have one…

we did a rolling experiment with surprising results.  the only thing we could find in the room that would roll with lifting the board one inch was a heavy wooden peg person.  so surprising!

i was inspired (again) by deborah and used some of our foam blocks for a big body game.

the art roller got a work out!! paint was flying!

all in all, a really radical round of good fun.

  1. Where did you get that big roller! I have sooooooooooooo been wanting one for my class. We both must be right about the same place because this week is Rocks and Rainbows for us!! LOL!
