through the eyes of some preschool families i offer you a glimpse into our final celebration as a preschool!

children were offered the gift of sunglasses again so they could “hide because we might be nervous or feel weird with all those people looking at us.”

it is hard to put into words what a difference it makes to have a good co-worker.  we laughed, we got messy, we worked hard, we kept each other accountable, we had inside jokes, we remained determined to be friendly and loving.

our families will get together soon to celebrate the year.

my heart feels full and empty at the same time today.

my mom is here and she helped me shut things down for summer.  i think the church basement looks sad and empty.  but in a few short months we’ll be crowded and happy again. blessed be…all of it.

every preschooler took home a “rainbow i spy bottle” on their last days of school.

red is for energy

orange is for creativity

yellow is for wisdom

green is for life

blue is for peace

purple is for balance

pink is for love

to my dear preschoolers and their families:  may you know all these things this summer.  be active!  make something!  read!  go outside!  be still!  breathe deeply!  hold your ever growing babies!

our 2010-2011 school year is over.  it hardly seems possible…

on tuesday we will celebrate our school year and honor the preschoolers heading off to kindergarten!

all our preschoolers are busy writing verses to a song…we’ll see if it is more than a solo by me. : )

in honor of x week we made a table top tic-tac-toe game.

craft stick and tape for X and old cds for O.

when easter rolled around we used colored paper easter eggs instead of X and O.

there is no photo of this, but i used a length of ribbon to show the “3 in a row” concept by laying it across the rows.  it was tricky for some kids to understand what three in a row looked like.    another way to stretch x week! : )

do you know the song “go in and out the window?”  we changed the verses a bit for x week:
