s is for screening (or g is for games)

this week has disappeared!

i can’t explain what took up my afternoons and evenings, but i can explain a special thing that happened all week.

dear friends of mine came and screened all our preschoolers.  this is a huge job and very time consuming.  i appreciate so much the spirit in which it was done.  i think the children came away feeling like they got some one on one time playing games rather than being “tested.”

thank you, thank you, thank you.

  1. I would also like to hear about this screening. We have talked about having some vision and hearing screening done and I know that many schools around here are doing readiness screening but those feel like testing. Hope you will find time to elaborate.

  2. Hi Kristen,
I teach 4 year old kindergarten in a public school (yes…public school) but I have say, your ideas and passion for teaching renew my spirit! I am grateful to you for giving your time, ideas, and most of all love for teaching…it is contagious!

PS: My daughter is only 6 months old and we live in Wisconsin…but I wish one day she could come to your school!

    Thank you!

  3. Hi!

I don’t even have kids yet….but I couldn’t resist adding this blog to my Google Reader account.

    I love your rainbow skirt/aprons!
I love one teacher’s orange Keens (I’ve got 2 pairs!)
And most of all I love the mass amounts of colorful masking tape!

Thanks for sharing your colorful days with cute little people!

  4. Hi Kristen,
What are they screening for–kindergarten readiness? I am just curious, because our public schools no longer screen incoming kindergartners, yet the expectations get higher every year.
